Lemon Ginger Garlic Honey Chicken Drummers are the Sticky-Savory Showstopper

This is one of those meals that feels like it should be complicated, but, secretly it is super simple and always a hit.

Our Lemon Ginger Garlic Honey Chicken Drummers are juicy, golden, and glazed with the kind of sauce that makes you want to bottle it up and use it on everything. And the best part? You probably already have everything you need in your kitchen.

It starts, of course, with the star of the show: our raw Vegas Bees honey. That sweet, floral depth balances the tang of lemon, the bite of garlic, and the warmth of fresh ginger. The result is a sticky, savory, sweet-tart glaze that clings to the chicken in the most glorious way.

Pete threw together a marinade, I got the chicken drummers ready, and we pulled these beauties out of the oven an hour later—caramelized and irresistible. Let’s just say they didn’t last long.

Lemon Ginger Garlic Honey Chicken Drummers

Ingredients:

  • 2.5 to 3 lbs chicken drumsticks (about 8 pieces)

  • 1/3 cup raw local honey (Vegas Bees honey, of course!)

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce or tamari

  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • ½ tsp cracked black pepper

  • Optional: 1 tsp chili flakes or hot sauce for a kick

  • Garnish: sliced green onions or fresh parsley

Instructions:

  1. Marinate: In a bowl or zip-top bag, combine the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice and zest, garlic, ginger, olive oil, pepper, and chili flakes (if using). Add the drumsticks and toss to coat. Marinate for at least 30 minutes—overnight is even better for max flavor.

  2. Bake: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the drumsticks in a single layer on a foil-lined or parchment-lined baking sheet. Pour any extra marinade over the top.

  3. Roast and Glaze: Bake for 35–40 minutes, turning once halfway through. In the last 10 minutes, crank the heat up to 425°F and baste the chicken with the pan juices to get that sticky, caramelized finish.

  4. Serve it up: Sprinkle with fresh herbs, serve with jasmine rice, couscous, or roasted vegetables, and let the compliments roll in.

Why This Recipe Works

The honey gives the chicken a deep amber glaze and seals in moisture. The ginger and garlic bring that savory-spicy balance, and the lemon cuts through with just the right amount of zing.

The whole thing tastes like you worked way harder than you did—which is our favorite kind of meal.

This dish is perfect for weeknight dinners, casual get-togethers, or even as a no-fuss game day option. It’s versatile and one of those recipes that earns a permanent spot in the rotation.

Bonus Tip:

Double the marinade, save half before you add the raw chicken, and simmer it into a dipping sauce while the chicken bakes. Brush it over the drummers right before serving for an extra-glossy finish. Trust us—it’s worth it.
