You Got Bees and Many Questions

Hi, we're Betsy and Pete from Vegas Bees. When you call us, you’re often dealing with a stressful situation, and one of the first questions we get is, “What are you actually going to do?”

We believe in being transparent, so we want to walk you through our live bee removal process from start to finish. Our goal is always twofold: to make your home safe and to give the bees a second chance.

Vegas Bees is fully insured and licensed for live honey bee removal. We completed rigorous training and continuing education to meet or exceed state standards for bee removal in Nevada.

Here’s exactly what you can expect when our team arrives at your property.

The Vegas Bees Live Bee Removal Process

From the moment we get there, we follow a careful, step-by-step process to ensure everything goes smoothly and safely.

The Inspection: First things first, we need to understand the situation. We’ll identify exactly where the bees are nesting, how large their colony is, and the safest, most effective way to get them out.

We often use specialized tools like thermal cameras to see the heat from the hive right through a wall, which lets us pinpoint their location without unnecessary damage.

Setting Up for Safety: Your family’s safety is our top priority. We put on our protective suits and prepare the area. We make sure your family members and pets are safely away from the action before we begin.

The Bee Removal: This is where our expertise and certification really shine. We never use chemicals or pesticides. Instead, we hand remove all of the honeycombs and gently collect the bees into a hive box.

Finding and securing the queen is the most critical part of this step. Once she’s safely in the box, the rest of the colony is much more willing to follow.

Complete Hive and Honeycomb Removal: We don't just take the bees; we take their entire home. Removing all the honeycomb and honey is absolutely essential. If left behind, melting honey can cause serious structural damage, and the scent will attract new swarms and other pests like ants and rodents.

Cleanup and Sealing: We clean the area thoroughly to remove any leftover residue and pheromones (scent markers) that could attract other bees. We then professionally seal all the entry points to ensure another colony can’t move in later.

What You Can Expect After We've Gone

Our job isn't over when we drive away. We ensure both your home and the bees are set up for long-term success.

A New Home for the Bees: All bees we collect from your property are relocated to one of our peaceful apiaries or local farms. Here, they get to pollinate, produce honey, and contribute to the local ecosystem. We monitor them to ensure they adapt well to their new hive box.

A Protected Home for You: With entry points sealed and all hive residue removed, new bees won't be attracted back to the same spot. Because we don’t use harmful chemicals, your home is immediately safe for you, your children, and your pets.

Long-Term Prevention: By removing everything, the bees, the comb, and the honey, we prevent long-term problems that come from extermination. There’s no risk of rotting honey causing stains and foul odors or dead bees attracting other pests inside your walls.

A Note on Lingering or Straggler Bees: It's normal to see a few bees flying around the old hive site for a few days after the removal. These are foragers and curious bees from other near by hives checking out the area. If you continue to see bee activity after seven days, please contact us.

Why This Process Matters

Choosing live bee removal ensures that your home is safe, your family and pets are protected, and the bees get a second chance to live at our bee farm.

Unlike extermination, live removal prevents hidden damage inside your walls and avoids harmful chemicals that could put your loved ones at risk.

All bee removals are performed by certified experts, licensed and insured according to Nevada state law. We encourage customers to verify our credentials and read our reviews for peace of mind.

If you have questions about our process or want to see copies of our insurance or licenses, just ask. We’re always happy to provide documentation. Safety, transparency, and professionalism are our top priorities.
