World Bee Day at Vegas Bees: Every Day is Bee Day for Us
At Vegas Bees, we don’t need a holiday to remind us how incredible honey bees are—but we’ll gladly take one! Today, May 20th, is World Bee Day, and we’re celebrating in the most meaningful way we know how: by continuing to protect, rescue, and honor the bees that make our desert bloom.
World Bee Day is about recognizing the role pollinators play in our ecosystems and our food supply. But for us—Betsy and Pete—it’s also about sharing our passion for the bees and reflecting on why we do what we do.
Saving Bees, One Swarm and One Hive at a Time
We’ve always believed that the bees come first. That’s why we offer live bee removal services that are 100% humane and chemical-free. Every hive we relocate gets a second chance at a happy life—usually at our own apiaries or with trusted beekeepers in the area.
Whether we’re gently coaxing a swarm out of a backyard tree or rescuing a full hive from a sprinkler valve box (yes, that happens more than you'd think!), we do it with care, patience, and respect. Our goal isn’t just to remove bees—it’s to safeguard their future.
What We’re Celebrating Today
Today, we’re raising a toast (and maybe a spoonful of our local honey) to the thousands of bees we’ve relocated, to our clients who trust us to handle these jobs with compassion, and to the wild places where bees thrive.
We're also celebrating:
The incredible biodiversity that bees support, from backyard gardens to entire food chains.
The power of pollination—helping fruits, veggies, and flowers grow in the Mojave and beyond.
And the growing community of bee lovers, conservationists, and curious folks who are eager to learn more.
A Buzz-Worthy Life
At Vegas Bees, every day is Bee Day. From hive inspections to swarm calls, from setting up beekeeping workshops to talking with kids at the library about why bees matter—we live and breathe this work.
But World Bee Day gives us a moment to zoom out and see the bigger picture: how bees are struggling globally, how habitat loss and pesticides are threatening their survival, and how small actions—like planting bee-friendly flowers or supporting local honey—can make a big difference.

How You Can Celebrate World Bee Day
Want to celebrate with us? Here are a few sweet ideas:
Plant native flowers like desert marigold, globe mallow, or sunflowers.
Buy local raw honey (we know a couple of good beekeepers 😉).
Skip the pesticides—bees and other pollinators will thank you.
Offer the bees a container of fresh water with rocks or sponges for them to land on.
From Our Hive to Yours
Today, we’re sending a big thank you to everyone who’s helped us along the way—from our incredible clients to fellow bee lovers and backyard gardeners.
Your support makes it possible for us to keep rescuing and rehoming bees, one hive at a time.
So here’s to the bees: the hardest workers we know, the sweetest little souls, and the heartbeat of our mission at Vegas Bees.
Happy World Bee Day 2025!
